PRITG is an initiative under the Khelo India Scheme aimed to disseminate information and pique the curiosity of the present generation about these games and encourage children and youth to take up rural, indigenous and tribal games in a major way, paving way for their mainstreaming. Under PRITG scheme, competitions/demonstrations may be held for rural, indigenous and tribal games. These competitions/demonstrations may be single/multi-discipline. Financial support will be provided to NGOs and Sports Federations/Associations, organizations associated with such games for promotion of these games through different activities.

Objectives of the Spandan Scheme:-
Promotion of indigenous and tribal sports through leagues, championships, and awareness initiatives.
Successful conduct of Thang-Ta League, Indigenous Wrestling Championship, and National Kalarippayattu League.
Preservation and mainstreaming of India’s traditional sporting heritage.
To encourage, promote and popularize the indigenous sports and games in our rural and tribal areas of the country.
Encouragement to youth and children for participation in traditional Indian sports.
